So when if ever are they going to stabilise the list of the essential items versus what is not? And why can one shop chain (Spar) sell anything and everything but others have got large chunks of their shelves blocked off?

Where have you seen this? Just buy what you need from Spar then?

My wife sent me out to the shops today --- Went from PnP to Spar because what she wanted was not available at PnP. Found everything except cigarettes on sale whereas PnP has all sorts of things blocked off.

Dailymaverick is all over it already : https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/art...-mec-locks-up-doctors-in-hospital-quarantine/

That MEC needs to be publicly flogged for being a backwards retard. The information given to the judge needs to be checked, if its false then the people responsible need to be charged with fraud immediately. If its not, then the judge who granted the order should be kicked the fsck out.

Yay for Durbanville.

Provided, all tracker systems are still activated in the vehicles in question. I can see those that want to move around being clever enough to deactivate their devices when they move around.

Consistency. Gov. handling of this is like a wild swinging tree creature.

You surely can't expect government to make a list of the hundreds of things that can and cannot be sold. Government has made the regulations and Woolies, PnP, Spar, etc. have looked at the things they sell and then decided based on that.

If a shop like Spar is not abiding to the regulations, or interpreted it in their own way, and you need what they have, then just buy from them.

What is the point? That he needs regulations for everything?
Consistency is the key here. The more these stupid issues remain, the more people will start to travel for no good reason to other areas to access what they need. There should be NO differences in how shops and different retail chains understand and implement the regulations. The cause of this is a hopeless failure by the relevant departments (DTI in the main) to set the rules clearly. It is even leading to Provincial governments interpreting the rules differently It is a serious issue and it is just being ignored day after day.
