So where was I..... oh yes.

They are allowing up to 50 people to travel across Provinces ( that's 6 taxis per funeral I think ).

But they have confirmed hotels and B&Bs are not open - so where tf are these 50 people going to stay ?

In the taxis ........ Simple, or under the nearest bridge. What is the problem?

So basically it would be exactly as it is now, but with possibly less travelling around by people as shops would not have shelves full of shyte you can't buy.

No not as it is now. Nowhere near in fact. It's astounding that so many here cannot see this clearly. This is simple logic and you guys are being daft.

Erm, comprehension?

If you already know a certain Spar has what you need then you go there. If you don't then you don't know what you don't know and you don't.
You're just tying yourself in knots. Let it go, we all basically understood each other.

There is no knot tying. Everything I've said is in plain english and if it was not clear then one should look in the mirror or try and read again and use some logic.

I've already refuted every single one of these guys posts. Nothing more to say here as the arguments and straw clutching whilst fun to bash down is getting ridiculous.

Why wouldn't it be like if is now... Since all shops have different interpretations of what they can and can't sell...

Explain to us stupid plebs how it would be different.

Turns out the true story is more alarming:
Three people have died of Covid-19 at Saint Augustine's Hospital in Durban, Dr Richard Friedland, the CEO of the Netcare Group, said on Friday.

"In the last 72 hours, three patients have tragically passed away from Covid-19 at Netcare St Augustine's Hospital. We extend our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the patients' loved ones and pray for them in this time of great loss and sadness."

Friedland said two of the patients were admitted to the hospital on 9 and 13 March and the third on 14 March.

"These patients did not have a history of recent international travel or known contact with a person who was Covid-19-positive, nor did they present any symptoms of Covid-19 when they were screened on admission."

"We immediately put further measures in place, including the closure of the hospital's emergency department and stopping all new admissions. There is also a considerable initiative underway to reinforce all infection control precautions and formal monitoring of all precautions will be conducted several times a day."

He said because those infected frequently showed none or few symptoms but might still be infected, Netcare took steps to screen health workers.

"Yesterday, [we] took the precautionary decision to increase the level of screening and testing of nursing, support and contracted staff, doctors, paramedics, as well as current patients at Netcare St Augustine's Hospital to determine whether or not they are clear of Covid-19 infection."

Friedland said screening and testing would enable the hospital to isolate any patients and hospital workers with suspected or confirmed cases of Covid-19.

This forum is known for that, but it's not going on here as you've been treated kindly. You just won't consider what is being said to you.

Let's get back to this, it might help;
You surely can't expect government to make a list of the hundreds of things that can and cannot be sold.
As mentioned hat-fettish Cele made it clear that we may not guess.

So... yes, we can expect them to. At least make a good effort to. Let's not forget, it's their job to do what's needed.

Are they part of the latest stats?

Yes, but the 'focus' on one hospital is alarming...

Both elderly/sick patients:
Health Minister Zweli Mkhize has announced that the number of positive Covid-19 cases have jumped to 1 505, an increase of 43.

It is believed that two more people have died from coronavirus in KwaZulu-Natal - an 80-year-old man and an 81-year-old woman - but medical staff are still awaiting test results.

As it stands, the death toll remains at seven, but it will rise to nine if these two cases return positive.

Why are the numbers so low? Here is why:

We have been seeing patients who have some of the symptoms of Covid-19 but we have been unable to test them because of a directive by our hospital and the NICD that we should only test those with a history of international travel or contact, as the tests are in short supply,” said Olivier.

They don't need to.

They can just say if it's in stock you can sell it, and then give a list of the things that can be restocked.
Then they'd have to come up with that list. If the current fiasco is anything to go by they'd arbitrarily exclude some food or important product.

Are our tests supplied by China and are they the ones with a 70% failure rate?

There's stupid in every province:
When they phoned MEC Ramathuba to get clarification, she blamed them for “bringing the virus into my province to infect my rural people”, according to a recording that Daily Maverick has heard.
The SA Medical Association (SAMA) condemned the forced quarantine of their members as a “shocking violation of their human rights” and is working with lawyer William Oosthuizen to get the court order reversed.

“This is a shocking abuse of the limited resources of the health department and of the human rights of the doctors,” said Dr Mark Human, chairperson of SAMA’s human rights, law and ethics committee.
