The Western Cape releases a different breakdown of figures, and mentions the number in hospital and ICU:
There were 475 recorded cases of Covid-19 in the Western Cape by midday on Monday, with 26 patients in hospital and 12 in intensive care units (ICUs), Premier Alan Winde said.

On Sunday, the province recorded 464 cases with 20 people admitted to hospital, and nine in ICU.

Edit: Also breakdown in the Eastern Cape:
The number of positive Covid-19 cases in Nelson Mandela Bay has risen to 16, which includes three more people linked to a KwaDwesi funeral held 16 days ago in the city.

Provincial health spokesperson Siyanda Manana on Monday confirmed the increase of confirmed Covid-19 infections in the metro.

The numbers for the Eastern Cape stand at 31.

Low daily numbers = low testing. Today only 1225 tests reported. Every day the positive numbers seem to be roughly 3% of tests conducted. The biggest tragedy about this lock down is that it was supposed to keep people in place while they conduct as many tests as possible, then isolating those positive finds. Every day we keep on reading testing is being ramped up but they are not being processed timeously. The lock down has therefore been a complete waste of time as all positives are not being identified quickly enough.

If the borders were locked a month before the lockdown we wouldn't be in this situation. Also, SA was late in securing test kits which I suspect is the cause of such low test numbers.

I half-agree with you. The contact tracing strategy has been relatively effective, and put a cap on the exponential growth phase of the epidemic. This has bought us time before the next steps, but has not stopped the gradual spread.

Unfortunately the government seems to have completely misjudged the next steps, perhaps based on false promises or assumptions. The rollout of widespread testing has stalled, both because the instant antibody tests are not reliable, and the rapid test machines are not ready.

We are like a deer caught in the headlights. We look foolish for all the damage done to the economy, and we do not have the tools to contain the epidemic, without further extending the lockdown.
