This is more concerning :

We are concerned about developments at St Augustine’s Hospital. 66 tested positive over the past few days. About 48 of them are staff. The Provincial dept. is engaging the hospital, with a view to closing parts of the hospital down

Very much so, and its intriguing that its treated as merely a footnote...

Looks like massive failure in controls. Should close the whole thing down, but it doesn't bode well for us if the case load goes higher up. I see my local netcare hospital have set up some sort of reception screening outside of the main hospital reception. They're using a marquee.

‘This is wartime’: The Reserve Bank just freed up half a trillion rand as Covid-19 relief loans

"For the duration of the crisis, the LCR [Liquidity Coverage Ratio], a ratio setting out the liquid assets a bank has to maintain in relation to its anticipated outflows, is being lowered from 100% to 80%," the Authority said."

Seems dangerous. I hope they take this LCR thing back to 100% after this crisis.

Look at that dinner table set and setting. Just imagine how unbearable it must be for some in a zink shack in the heat seeing that picture on an R399 Hisense android phone to scared to go out to buy a can of tin fish for lunch and dinner. Sies shame on them!

I was startled to discover that nearly one in five South Africans is HIV positive. I never realised that the number was that high. I wonder if ART might confer some protective effect. Probably not.

I asked a doctor and he said anti retrovirals won't help against corona.

It doesn't although some people are on the same drug and dose that is being evaluated for treatment of Covid-19, i.e. Lopinavir with Ritonavir.
