The doctor who attended to the first cases is dead... from Coronavirus.

Do you think he would have said the whole thing is overblown and overhyped?
He's dead now.
Wow, rather extreme example of Fake News.
I think he's referring to the Hilton doctor who attended to SA's first case.

Yea I was referring to the SA one, considering the thread is about SOUTH AFRICAN COVID 19 CORONA VIRUS NEWS AND UPDATES, not WORLD ... NEWS AND UPDATES. You guys need to think within the thread context, stop jumping on moral high horses to score free browny points and make yourself look good by pointing out the "obvious inaccuracies of others". @Jola Fake news my ass, check here. Fix your fake unsubstantiated accusations instead, this isn't a trump rally.

Reed said her staff was checked on Friday. "This is hugely blown out of proportion. People are making a huge hysterical panic about something that is a very bad flu

Maybe we should be posting 9gag memes in the News and Current Affairs sub forum, because you know, subject matter, context, and made for purpose doesn't seem to apply.

Thought so, time to hibernate.
meh, it's not Ebola... SO is panicking now too... people treating it like it's a death sentence... it's not... could get ugly though, given SA's shocking healthcare infrastructure and our high TB and HIV infection rates. To date there is no case study on how a patient with TB/HIV is going to respond infected with COVID-19 too...

It might not be the death that gets you though, imagine 10% of the country gets infected and is in serious condition, with the whole place locked down and you need a permit to move from your house to the garage down the street, you might not have been infected, but your life will definitely change until this has been figured out and sorted out.

Imagine the guys in China now wondering whether they will have food for the next week or not, there have been posts about food deliveries being late to the quarantined complexes, which is a major issue

Simply don't have the capacity too... but right now the threat is actually middle and upper class folk content to travel internationally despite the risks.

Don't have the capacity to ?

You just ban all flights and ships - or at least quarantine like sensible countries are doing.

So far every case we have is because we had open borders and no quarantine.
