I reckon the number of deaths is being under reported. Look at the critical cases number too? Been 7 for about a week. Hasn't changed. How's that possible?

Should be reported unless day hospitals are making a mess of things.

Been retracted everywhere. No official source to confirm he's talking later.

I think most will agree that there are perhaps thousands more cases out there undetected as we speak. Some mild cases regarded as just the sniffles, some completely asymptomatic, some still incubating, some perhaps protected by HIV medications etc. The question going forward is - when the mumber of cases co to he's to go up (and they will), is the government going to react to the total number of cases or should they perhaps rather look at the number of severe cases only in order to make a decision regarding extensions, distancing etc? My argument being that there is going to be an increase in cases whether we like it or not, but if the majority of the population is handling it well, should they not take that into consideration??

Lastly, I think the government is between the rock and a hard place. If they extend (to protect the vulnerable), they will severely harm the economy (primarily smme's). If they relax and the mumbets go up, they will be seen as prioritizing business (white), over the poor.
I have heard of plenty of people, although this is anecdotal, with what sounded to me like mild cases of the famous virus. Mild coughs, GI symptoms, etc...

I don't see how it's possible to plan a national strategy without getting some handle on those figures. I know random testing is the way to go, although test kits are in short supply. Also, antibody testing may be needed instead of PCR to determine the true number of recovered or asymptomatic. The antibody tests are far cheaper than PCR, although there were known issues with SOME batches from China.

There is one bit of information which would actually be useful, but in most cases not available.

All the new cases - where did they contract it ?

I would think some would know - they went to a gathering they shouldn't have, they took a very full taxi, they were in a queue at Woolies near someone who didn't look well....

I would be more interested in those who took all the precautions and can only remember for example talking to the petrol attendant, a neighbour or courier delivery.

I want to know just how easy or hard it is to get infected.
