I'm not convinced.
But either way the IMF is starting to pull the strings.

Again I doubt that as well.. we haven't agreed squat with the IMF directly yet.. we will be discussing a package with them yes...

I don't understand this idiocy. Everytime a person working in a grocery or pharmacy tests positive the store closes? So it's a race to the bottom and eventually all the stores will be closed? Then even the few of us who have jobs and money are ****ed, right?
Exactly right, lots of idiocy.

Check a few days ago in this thread, leak reports which were believed credible are that a firm offer was made by them and it's in the process of being accepted.

That is a very different kettle of fish to the IMF pulling the strings already...

Idiocy. I saw that with a local dischem. A few staff report positive. They close the store to deep clean it, and going forward will deep clean and sanitize it twice a day. Are the ****ing moron east rand shoppers walking around in dischem licking all the surfaces?
I will bet my life these store employee positives are person to person transmission and cleaning the surface is as beneficial as that time the steam cleaned the roads at the Bree Street taxi rank.

It may be idiocy, but its the best that the a group like Dischem can actually do in their own space....

The only thing they need to do is send the positive employees home/doc/hospital depending on the severity of the symptoms and let them recuperate under their sick leave policy. This deep cleaning nonsense is a waste of time and money and does FA to diminish the spread of the covid sniffle bug.

It will be an interesting exercise going forward after the partial relaxation. One business will be allowed to operate, while another will not. Then the other will be allowed to operate, while the first one has to close because of sick staff. Good luck to the entire supply chain and trade in general!!!!

Technicality. The ANC aren't exactly a moral organisation, easily bought, even in advance.
But really not trying to convince you, just saying there's other things that do go on.

If it isn't going around licking surfaces how is it they ended up with 24 staff infected? The damned virus is obviously highly infectious if it can pass around that quickly from what I would think was a single source.

You just have to touch a surface hosting the virus, then it's on your hands. Then touch your face - cheers.

I suspect they caught it from staff transport.

Does the report mention if it's certain that it's the COVID-19 version? If they're quick tests they may just be picking up common Corona, and then reacting too soon - last I heard it still requires time in a laboratory to confirm.

At lot of these places they eat their lunch together in a confined space...and they're not known to use cutlery.
