He mentioned businesses that reopen must do so in a staged manner. First prepare for opening and then introduce staff, but only at 1/3 of total staff count at a time. Hence my comment
I would work my staff in 3 week shifts, 1/3 at a time , when one get sick of the virus whole shift need to go on a 14 day quarantine deep clean and bring next 1/3 in for work

One mistake of sorts - he said old people or badly sick can't go out, should be old people that are sick and all others badly sick (based on Italy's determinations).
And what age is elderly - 60 / 65 / 70?

How old is the president?

Aussie Bio company put out some good news in regard some trials they doing

83% SURVIVAL IN COVID-19 PATIENTS WITH MODERATE/SEVERE ACUTE RESPIRATORY DISTRESS SYNDROME TREATED IN NEW YORK WITH MESOBLAST’S CELL THERAPY REMESTEMCEL-L
Key points:
• 83% survival in ventilator-dependent COVID-19 patients (10/12) with moderate/severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) treated with two infusions of Mesoblast’s allogeneic cell therapy remestemcel-L within the first five days under emergency compassionate use at New York City’s Mt Sinai hospital during the period March-April 2020

• 75% (9/12) have successfully come off ventilator support within a median of 10 days • These results contrast with only 9% of ventilator-dependent COVID-19 patients being able to come off ventilators with standard of care treatment and only 12% survival in ventilator-dependent COVID-19 patients at two major referral hospital networks in New York during the same time period1,2

• This compassionate use treatment experience has informed the design of the clinical protocol for the randomized, placebo-controlled Phase 2/3 trial of remestemcel-L in ventilator-dependent COVID-19 moderate/severe ARDS patients across North America

The background explained a little in this one

If it isn't going around licking surfaces how is it they ended up with 24 staff infected? The damned virus is obviously highly infectious if it can pass around that quickly from what I would think was a single source.
I think your assumptions are false.

There's no telling the time period from infection to when the staff member showed symptoms or was screened out for testing.
There's no way of telling it was a single source for the infection.

This thing is transmitted largely person to person. The people touching a surface someone spat on and then their faces is probably the minority of recorded infections. Most of it is people breathing in close proximity to one another.

I was in the Dischem last week friday. This woman in front of me with proper surgical mask on, as soon as she got to the pharmacist at the back of the store, off comes the mask and she leans forward on the counter to talk to the pharmacist. Anecdotal I know, but I would reckon that's the leading cause of infections.

Wow. Just wow. Not sure why they are queuing though - don't they get their full salaries? Perhaps they are now supporting more people.

opportunism.

we have seen it in our community also, people begging for support on groups and then you find out later that they still working or on what they thought were private profiles they are braaing and drinking like a fat jol behind the scenes

Yup.... and its sickening.

There are many people who are genuinely struggling to get food. But you have twats trying to take advantage of the situation and get shyte for free when they can buy stuff themselves.

interesting

Higher altitude
means increased risk of sun-induced skin damage, since UV radiation exposure increases 4 to 5 percent with every 1,000 feet above sea level. At an altitude of 9,000 to 10,000 feet, UV radiation may be 35 to 45 percent more intense than at sea level, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation

Wonder if the infection rates at altitude are likely to be lower than at sea level?
