We just had a family "virtual meeting"this morning. I related a story about my grandmother. who used to come home with her shopping, fill the kitchen sink with hot water, add some Dettol, and then proceed to wipe down every single item before placing it in her cupboards.
She also used to wash down all fresh produce before it went into the fridge.
She used to wash bread down under a running tap and pop it in the oven for a quick bake.
She is the one that taught us to wash our hands. Every time she saw us she would haul us off to the bathroom to wash our hands. That message stuck because we do most of these things still without thinking, they are automatic.

Stupid is, Gauteng is back at 400 active cases, that's what we had at the start of this thing and we have had 8 deaths. Sigh

There are a lot of urgent items under Level 4 which will be welcome, from car repairs to licensing and the deeds office.

There are an even longer list under Level 3 which will become urgent, from building, hardware, clothing, laundry and postal services.

Some items are inexplicably left to Level 1, such as hair salons!? Are we seriously expected to wait 12-18 months to get our hair cut!?

That's already a de-facto reality. Unless you are an essential worker, there is no reason for you to be outside after 8pm, since almost all shops will be closed by then.

What are you doing out of home after 8 pm? and before 5 am?

It is a control measure to pacify the goons, otherwise, they are going to feel left out. Wonder how they are going to handle shift workers in an "allowed industry"?
