Yes but it's a today thing.

No temperature today, hasn't done anything on the high risk list - they are fine as far as anyone is concerned.

Until tomorrow.
You need to catch one with temperature and dry cough, send for testing, if positive , go check his contacts. Government of course is presuming people in lock down can not catch it 'tomorrow' , and if they are working, their employers have to do the screening every single day.

Yes, trying to catch asymptomatic people is great if you have unlimited tests. No country is really at that point yet though.

63,000 people died of TB in SA in 2018.
So 172 per day, why no lock down?
Wasn't made in China, imported through Italy?

Just for those thinking the reason WC has higher confirmed cases than Gauteng is because it's done more testing. You'd be wrong, yesterday WC had done a total of 25744 tests, Gauteng 6 days ago had done 30 000.
So not sure why some people believe that. Perhaps we did things right in Gauteng, maybe we aren't touchy feely? As it does seem to be that a lot of the people complaining about people being on top of each other in shops and queues aren't from GP. Maybe us being the Gangsta paradise for so long has made us more recluse, maybe this virus doesn't like altitude who knows. Screenshot_20200427-000835.jpg Screenshot_20200426-235422.jpg

Because of the obvious fact that this has the potential to kill a lot more people. And tb has a cure while this doesn't and is easier to catch.

Because TB is now well understood (prevention, how it's spread, if you have latent TB you are unlikely to infect others, cure etc) and taking all that into account a lockdown would not be beneficial for the control of TB.
What are people going to propose next - a lockdown to control cancer or heart disease?

I would imagine its self explanatory? If you want to test the general public and not just those that come to you but have a limited amount of tests, then screening before testing is the best way to do that.
On the other hand we all know that you can either be asymptomatic or too early in the infection stage to be showing any symptoms. At the end of the day, they were busy screening all airport arrivals back in February already, yet they missed all thosd that arrived infected from Italy.

TB is preventable and treatable while Covid-19 is a wildcard?
