South African Drivers Licence - Made where?

Where are our licences manufactured... I just noted the words

"CARTA DE CONDUCAO" on the top. thats Portuguese.

Cards are made by Prodiba in Pretoria. And they are valid for all SADEC countries. Hence the Portugeuse.

I think its recognized pretty much where ever they understand it. A license is a license.
I have also noticed that on my license. Not sure why it is there, but I think the licenses are all printed in jhb/pretoria and then sent to the various traffic departments around the country.

Besides french, portugese is the next most spoken language on the African continent.

I also noticed that and like you, thought it was manufactured offshore. I guess it's simply to cater for Portuguese speakers.
