Not my side - finance relatedIs there a link between WFH and pay - are jobs that require you to be in-office higher paid? Or just a case of if you can get remote and want remote, then good for you, you need to find a job that offers that?

I know of a few companies where they tried the whole "you don't need to pay for transport and work clothes anymore so we can pay you less" approach. It backfired spectacularly. Is there a link between WFH and pay - are jobs that require you to be in-office higher paid? Yeah - except my colleagues think my output is only feasible in person... all of the people I talk to though are on VC. It's all culture based. Some places the boss just wants to have people in the same room...I know of a few companies where they tried the whole "you don't need to pay for transport and work clothes anymore so we can pay you less" approach. In the end you should be paid for your knowledge, experience and output, not where that output is produced.
Mostly processing of finance, or a lot of negotiation work? I'm seeing that finance for admin, reporting, processing is fine with remote, but the one's that require people to sell or negotiate are more in person / in office...Not my side - finance related

In fact, people working from home probably have more time to shop than those in an office. No one over their shoulders saying 'get off that shopping site and back to work' (insert whip cracking).
In the corporate world it's always the one cnt that fcks it up for the rest. But then business apply a blanket rule so it don't happen again.
Deal mostly cross border so mostly teams meeting with clients as it has been for years.Mostly processing of finance, or a lot of negotiation work? Netflix"Why has productivity decreased? What happened?"
..... TBC
Yup, as long as it's the employees choice and not being forced on them.Of course the logic works both ways, if the output is as good from home as it is from the office, then working at the office is perfectly acceptable.

So let THOSE work from the office. Why punish the ones who are still productive at home?Of course the logic works both ways, if the output is as good from home as it is from the office, then working at the office is perfectly acceptable.
Do you want blanket rules rules? That's how you get blanket rules.
WFH is great if everyone plays fair, but aside from the unscrupulous employers, there are many many employees who try to take advantage of wfh and spoil it for others. There are also some employees who do not have adequately prepared wfh environments, been a fair few times I contact a call centre agent who happens to be wfh and they have loud and intrusive background noise including crying babies/toddlers.
Because then the ones working from the office cry "No FAIR"So let THOSE work from the office. Why punish the ones who are still productive at home?
I have seen more dissatisfied staff leave a work environment because of this than many others.Because then the ones working from the office cry "No FAIR"
It's not going to change. Boss man thinks everyone is replaceable. That mindset has been one of the most stubborn to changeI have seen more dissatisfied staff leave a work environment because of this than many others.
Nothing to do with ability, skills or value. Because some are disgruntled, all must conform... and wonder why staff losses are so high.
Too bad. If they wanted it so badly, they should have been equally productive. I'm far past the point of feeling sorry for lazy f***cks.Because then the ones working from the office cry "No FAIR"
