Most popular graphics card brands among gamers in South Africa

Gigabyte, MSI, XFX, ASUS, Palit, and Zotac tend to be the most popular graphics card brands in South Africa, an analysis of several computer hardware reseller listings reveals.

South African retailers Takealot, Rebel Gaming, Titan-Ice, and Wootware make it possible for customers to sort the hardware components on their websites by popularity or ratings, making it possible to determine the most popular and highest-rated brands.

I do, and it's beastly!
Gave Atomic Heart a test run.
Average of 90 FPS for me.
Smooth as butter.
Also had Edge (with a million open tabs :laugh: ), Slack, and Outlook, all running at the same time.

Not so much unpopular opinion with Gigabyte, have friends (swear by gigabyte) that on a new GPU, their air cooler contact plate has 2-3mm deep scratch. Terrible QC. There is also the exploding power supplies business and motherboards (B550 & B650) with poor cooling on VRMs. The last motherboard I had, was Gigabyte, had an undetectable memory corruption issue. Was impossible to extract large archives. Random game crashes. Was mitigated with bios update but not eliminated.

IMO they can go to hell.

All my Zotac cards are still going strong.
All my XFX cards had stability issues out of the box.

At the lower ends I agree.

However, I have the Gigabyte Aorus 3070 Master and it's sweet. Faster than the MSI Gaming X Trio 3070 that I had before and runs cooler too.

I have an MSI laptop with 3060. It's OK, and plays anything at 1080p.but don't expect 3060 desktop performance.
Also, there is quite a performance range in 3060 laptops because of the power limit set by the manufacturer. Anything between 60watts and 115watts. So if considering buying one research one with higher power limit.
3060 with 115watts will be faster than 3070 with 85 watts

The fans definitely spin up. Not so much in something like BF4 that I started playing again after about 2 years after moving up north, but certainly during Ghost Recon: Breakpoint.
A bit noisy, but nothing too bad.
 
I would be careful in putting too much confidence in the steam hardware survey as an absolute indicator....

While I do disagree with this, I do consider those two brands on par with one another, and definitely far from up there with the best.
