Gordhan visiting China to handle train delivery mess

South African Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan will travel to China in April to discuss an impasse that’s blocked the delivery of locomotives and spare parts.

Gordhan will meet his Chinese counterpart to discuss the failure by a unit of state-owned CRRC Corp. to meet requirements set by South Africa’s central bank and tax authority, state-owned ports and rail company Transnet SOC Ltd. said in a statement Tuesday.

Maybe he is not tall enough and can fit under the bridges.
Then he is the right person for this FIASCO.

China`s rail is working because the cops shoot rail track thieves on the spot. A Chinese cop might loose his job for not killing a track thief immediately and efficiently within 15mins of the crime.

LOL... heard from a reliable source that China is p!ssed with SA. Threatening to pull all investments and future funding from the country. If I was CR, I would have sent the whole cabinet and joined them in person too. Get SARS to close all files and drop all demands. Pay all outstanding money to China and put this issue to bed and let tax payers carry the brunt.

Lol, what happened to all the local content schtick they were proposing?

We really used to have decent rail manufacturers and suppliers in SA.
