South Africans are dying due to Eskom's pollution

In Pullens Hope, your eyes itch and your nose clogs. It’s easy to figure out why.

On the right side of the main street of the dilapidated village east of Johannesburg is a fenced-off electricity substation with a red sign warning of pollutants.

Typical of just so many things in South Africa today, inconsiderate, incompetent vehicle drivers, incompetent health officials, the list is endless in this country of ever increasing incompetency.

Competence is a western concept, now we have successfully decolonized competency.

They crying about dying from air pollution, but not about the myriad other causes of death, that kill a lot more people ... , besides, without Eskom most of those people will likely starve to death because there is no economy to support them. One way or the other they will die. So says the Cynic ...

South Africa is a huge user of coal power, we burn some of the dirtiest coal in the world, and many places in Mpumalanga have terrible air quality.

We should be investing in nuclear and solar power on a huge scale.

No wonder people are complaining: https://www.fin24.com/Companies/eskoms-biggest-power-plant-has-broken-pollution-equipment-20190712
Eskom said pollution reduction equipment at its biggest operational plant hasn’t been working properly since early last year.

The equipment, which cuts particulate emissions at the 4 116 megawatt coal-fired Kendal power station in South Africa’s eastern province of Mpumalanga, began malfunctioning in early 2018. It was then damaged during a strike in July and August of that year.

Tragic really , but an unfortunate truth ... , they lack fundamental understanding that the only power they have over government is their vote. And the few who do understand this still vote ANC any how ...
