Ag jinne now it's water! If it's not electricity then it's water.

More likely the ship has already sunk but those caught below deck weren't aware of it. They're now alarmed by the water starting to flow under the doors thinking that someone needs to plug a hole when in reality the ship has already settled on the bottom of the sea. Wait until their oxygen runs out and they try get out ... surprise!

Solar went in last week. Busy setting up irrigation timer so I can dump 10kL of borehole water on my garden per week. There is no shortage of water in Gauteng - the dams are full and my borehole pump is sitting 50+ meters under water.

Western Cape is a Winter rainfall area so the water levels would be lower this time of year....ie summer. Also doesnt help the amount of people moving to the western cape per year ie about 200 000 from elsewhere so it would put a strain on the resources.

Most of the up north are summer rainfall areas (yip we have a difference climate).

Other than that Eastern Cape is a Winter Rainfall area mostly, but thru corruption they have stuffed up everything. Thus about 100 000 people moving here from Eastern Cape each year since the late 1990s. (Dunoon, Hout Bay, Somerset West, Grabouw, Joe Slovo, Stellenbosch, Worcester etc) are all areas where informal settlements has sprung up from people from the Eastern Cape.

Only because the anc has fvcked everything up and has no money to repair or improve the infrastructure because they steal every cent meant for that.

To a certain extent but droughts happen elsewhere too. The US is plagued with them and even the UK is currently experiencing one.

But....technically yes its going to get worse.

Ever seen the movie "Day After Tomorrow". So basically with the gulf streams stopping every soo many thousands of years (last was 400AD end of Romans too). The Gulf Stream slows down and eventually Earth goes into a BIG FREEZE, well the Northern Hemisphere down to Mexico level, and the south stays hot and toasty. Then it all corrects itself again. With Global warming this change curve is far far worse, so the ice age may be much worse. Until then the storm will get worse in the North, thicker snow, worse hurricanes, etc.

When it does grind to a halt, it would flood the US east coast...why? The strength of the current actually drops the water levels along the east coast, as it pushes the water north. This is also warm water that heats up the US and Western Europe. If it stops the ocean level on the US may rise 10cm, which isnt much, but the polar ice caps melting will send this into 10m range. The North will cool down. The hot areas will get hotter, the wet areas around the world will get wetter, and the storms far worse.

So expect more flooding in SA where it normally floods, and expect the hot areas to pick up record heat waves.

So uhm that would probably mean way more people moving to safe areas like the Cape. Try staying a bit away from the coast though, so Durbanville side.

So if the polar caps melt. This will be the Cape Town area

Go look again. Look at the 2021 water level for the same day last year. You will find that it is 25% lower. The is a 25% water loss in 1 year. And the year even had rain that could not be classified as drought. The Cape simply does not have the dam capacity to sustain it`s population, just like PE.

93.9 - 69.1 = 24.8. That is a 24.8% water loss in 1 year! So much for DA excellence, the day0 battle is looming again for the Cape. That is less than 4 years to day0. Throw in a bad rain year or 2 and day0 moves forward by a year or 2.
