What Stage 9 load-shedding will look like

University of Johannesburg physics professor Hartmut Winkler says South Africans can expect to be without electricity for 12 hours a day, in a four-hours on, four-hours off rotation, under stage 9 load-shedding.

Winkler told the Sunday Times that stage 9 load-shedding is likely this winter as demand increases with nothing from the generation side able to compensate for the rise.

Give or take an extra half hour or a few days various delays and general local grid failure.

We are already on 12 hours a day any way. Also if our Load shedding starts after midnight, the power remains out till the morning, unless we have a 5 to 7 AM load shedding then the power will remain out till 7 AM. So before the day starts we are down 7 to 8 hours depending. Then all the other load shedding kicks in essentially canceling our working day and we can't catch up at night.
