The cost of data is high because of the government's inefficiency:
They don't protect people's property - think cable theft and theft of cellphone tower equipment
They don't manage the allocation of spectrum correctly.
They implement stupid regulations when it comes to hiring people.
They implement stupid regulations when it comes to doing business with the government.
They demand high taxation for businesses. Which will drive up the cost of business

These are things fully under the control of government.

Instead, they are going to most likely regulate the price of data. Which won't work, and will only degrade the quality of service we will receive (not that it would be difficult to notice lol)

Is Cell C reducing prices again? Seriously though they're ignoring the problem of entry cost. Can't wait for them to get rid of that stake in Telkom.

Do not think copy pasting SAnews for commercial purposes is right.

Moving on,

I do not think this is something government should get involved in. If people are paying Vodacon's prices then let them be. Others must raise the competition.
