South Africa's best SIM-only deals - Compared

The high price of mobile data is a common complaint among South Africans, who want networks to make access to mobile internet more affordable.

According to Vodacom CEO Shameel Joosub, one of the main reasons for high data prices is a lack of spectrum allocation by government.

Thanks for the information - it is very useful.
But it does not tell the full story - for example CellC has Smartdata packages at 100GB/12month for R1599 and 200GB/12 month at R1999 once-off. If you are lucky you may get the Telkom Mo'nice offer of 8,5GB/1month deal at R99, no contract. Both of these compare very favorably with the prices in the article.
So as the article correctly says, you have to decide what your needs are, and of course what your coverage is.

the Cell-C 200Gb anytime prepaid at R1999 that's valid for 365days still seems a better deal if you looking at big bundles, plus not locked into contract

Could have at least compared Telkom network bundles unstead of the ALL NETWORK bundles that are significantly more expensive because it's bundles intended for roaming on MTN or now Vodacom.

The Telkom network which is fair beats all these other network pricing....

Cellc has a data month on month contract offering 15Gb anytime for R150.
Month to month, you can terminate anytime.
Lte advanced. Subject to network availability in your area. I find this very cheap for lower data denominations.

Visit the Cell C store and get a copy of their magazine. Not every deal is on their website.
