South Africa's digital vaccine certificate delayed

Last week the National Department of Health announced plans to issue digital vaccination certificates to people who have received COVID-19 jabs.

While the details were sparse, Minister of Health Dr Joe Phaahla said that the certificates will become available in “just over a week or so”.

But in a press conference on Friday (17 September) Phaahla said that a team in the department is still working on the certificates and that an implementation plan will be presented to the National Coronavirus Control Council in the next ten days.

Everything is delayed with this government. Trying desperately to be first world in a third world country. Do you really think hospitality will turn away 80% of their customers? (Only 20% fully vaccinated)

This should proceed according to the conventional project plan:

1. Implementation is delayed (X3).
2. System is down.
3. System gets hacked.

The thin end of the wedge. Need to make it needle thinner so that fewer people realise the actual thickness of it.

Can still be faked. Also the fundamental flaw is all services people care about are also the same ones that will not turn anybody away after the last 18 months.

That’s us. Nobody does delay better than us.
The digital vaccine certificate should take a number and just chill. We still have digital TV migration and spectrum auction in the queue.

The aim is to protect each other? A vaccine cannot protect other people - only the person whose body it is in (and only if you ignore the myriad medical research that says it is actually more dangerous than the virus itself).

The certificate is not controversial.... are these people living under a rock??? I guess this is why so many are already protesting against it.

"...care must be taken to avoid it being used in a discriminatory way" - more twisted jokes. Its entire existence is discriminatory!

"...move in the right direction" - towards medical apartheid, yes.

I wonder how many anti vax people there are in the tourism industry and how they feel about being on the red list of the UK. Must be a tricky situation

Unfortunately one or two or three or four only five shots is enough to get tourists back in south africa, take look at Israel. It's a never ending situation of more and more booster shots. Sweden is completely free of the pandemic.
