Just for context, this all started in 1998
savrala.co.za
I saw one the other day in his natural habitat. Was under a tree while sitting looking at a traffic camera. 100s of cars riding on the yellow line, others just blatantly breaking the law. Butt he majestic cop just sat and yawned while the camera flashed on occassion.Great idea!
But where are the traffic cops that will be implementing this? Somewhere, sure, but nowhere near where they are supposed to be - yet still collecting their salaries at the end of each month.
The people responsible for the lack of respect aren't the people who will feel the effect of any fines..About bloody time - the lawlessness on the roads - especially in JHB - has reached epidemic proportions.
People will whine about this change all day long - but judging by the lack of respect on the roads at the moment its is the vast majority of people who deserve their licenses revoked.
Its the wild west out there and its time it stopped.
I doubt the average taxi driver has a valid license. You can't demerit something that doesn't exist.+1
How is this demerit system going to work for taxi drivers.
Taxi drivers already ignore fines as it's racist and colonial.

This has zero to do with stopping lawlessness and everything to do with moneymaking.About bloody time - the lawlessness on the roads - especially in JHB - has reached epidemic proportions.

Here they are too useless for even that!I saw one the other day in his natural habitat. And how do you suppose this will happen? Through the magic fairies flying above reporting the bad drivers lol?About bloody time - the lawlessness on the roads - especially in JHB - has reached epidemic proportions.

And why's E-Tolls on the list if it's scrapped?Sound like too high-tech for ZA. E-Tolls version 1.1 beta.
I have had the privilege of driving in JHB and PTA for 40 years. The lawlessness on the roads there is nothing compared to same in CPT. The DA only complains about applying AARTO, but in fact protects criminality in all it's forms. Infrastructure and services are first class, but lawlessness is up there too. Bring on AARTO!About bloody time - the lawlessness on the roads - especially in JHB - has reached epidemic proportions.
