South Africa's plan to add extra grid power quickly and end load-shedding

The South African government's Energy Crisis Committee revealed there is the potential to add 1,950MW of capacity from independent power producers (IPPs) in the near future.

The additional capacity would come from surplus power produced by IPPs, neighbouring Southern Africa Power Pool (SAPP) countries, and gas generation.

If the business rates that Cape Town alleges they'll pay per KW are correct, it actually makes sense to build some generation to sell them power.

You already know its a waste of time when one of the first words you see is government...

"The South African government's Energy Crisis Committee revealed there..."

That article photo was right before Medupi was blown up…

All this talk of IPPs is too much for Cele

he sees this - and sees I pee pee - thinks - you pee pee too mush - Destroys another load of alcohol to stem the number of pee pees we make.

Uhm LETS TURN THE SWITCH ON THAT THE CLEANER TURNS OFF FOR HER VACUUM CLEANER.

Wait the same cleaner from the hospital where so many died in ICU so she could polish floors.

I read the story right up until it mentioned one of the ministers on the crisis committee is the minister of police. Like wtf? Was the minister of health not available?

When is the ANC ever going to learn? You earn trust by appointing experts, not by putting political bums into important seats.

This Guy's face, looking at the pressure gauge is saying something like:
"How do they expect me to fix this thing if they bought fokol hydraulic fluid for the pump. My procurement manager can't even tell the difference between petrol, paraffin and iced tea"
