South Africa's State Information Technology Agency is currently advertising 27 vacancies at several nationwide offices

The salary ranges for the Senior Dev and DevOps Engineer aren't too bad, but not too wow. Their salary bands are probably better than most SA companies that hire IT engineers of sorts, hahaha.

Most SA companies pay "market average" rates which are shockingly low. These rates are good for people who want to sell themselves short or do not know their value.

Yeah those salary ranges aren't horrid but they aren't amazing.. Definitely not enough to work for an entity like Sita.

Those salaries are the base pay to get your foot in the door. If you schmooze enough then after 6 months you can get a upper management job, and that is when the real money kicks in with the tender fraud and looting.

At least 27 more leachers we need to take care of. At least there is that.

This is government in a nutshell.

The salaries are too high for the skills that most state employees have. And too low for people with the real skills.
