Western Cape figures still climbing
11th July - 27298
12th July - 29727

All other provinces will still rise. They are weeks or perhaps even months behind Gauteng where this wave started. Other provinces will feel the heat in the next 1-2 months. Gauteng is still at least 3-6 months away from reaching its peak.

The impact of the last few days will not be seen (if at all) for at least 7 -10 days.
So no conclusion should be dawn yet.

The current peak is because, all things being equal, the current wave has reached a peak mainly in GP.

Listen to what the CSIR researcher is saying. Don't read into the data anything that is simply not there.

NC and FS appear to have peaked as well. Well, they peaked before GP.

Less tests also means less people sick or with symptoms... You do know you don't have to go test if you're not sick?
You know you can't go for a test if there is no medical personnel to do the test?

Discovery have sent out notifications that they have closed their offices for now. My wife works for a medical company and their clinic have been closed for the safety of their personnel.

Some people really do not know what is happening in real life. They are caught behind their computers and phones in a total different reality.

Sure, you probably find both less people actively ill, and this are contributing to the dropping numbers. Although lots of the country remains untouched by riots, so testing as usual, one would think?

Excluding the biggest part of Natal you are already excluding a large part of the SA population from being tested. With many areas in and around Gauteng affected, you are excluding millions more.

This is why the statistics are not accurate and why the comments in the OP is speculation and not based on facts.

They are yet to get the new variant. They still have not experienced it. Gauteng was the first province. The rest are still to come.
It depends on how you interpret the data. And, what was missed in the first inferences drawn was that the Delta variant had not yet taken hold on those provinces. So, the jury is still out. Hence the caution expressed by the CSIR representative. We do need to wait a few more weeks to confirm the downturn in those other provinces.

What is the new variant , "Looting Variant".
Ja, the media screwed up big time last week, reporting that a new variant has been found in SA. (Peru or Lambda).

What the media did not know is that this week it would be an alternative old disease called "looting".

There is a known chemical substance that is also not approved by SAHPRA for use in treating the looting disease. It is called Lead. Comes in the form of slugs delivered by automatic weapons.

The government refuses to use this to treat the disease until a full set of triple-blind studies have been completed and "Lead" is approved for use against the Looting disease.

Don't they carry out initial testing on animals? Seem to be a lot of rabid ones roaming about at the moment ripe for carrying out these studies.

Yes, but less tests = less positive results.
Yes that's generally how it works, also less people going for tests mean less people need to go for tests. What you think it's a mass testing program going on?
