And is this across the board entirely or only selected few?
Only for those who hug Telkom once a day![]()
--does this sound correct? Why only one locale? Exchange? May not relevant to even think that they will be rolling 4MB to all 384K liners; can you imagine the feeding frenzy this will create if it goes live at some stage? Well at least there is an indication that TELKOM is admitting (at least in this test area), that 384K is not (do-)broadband.Telkom is testing the inpact of boosting line speed in my area
The PCFormat user is question who had this upgrade is in East London.
Doesn't it seem a little unlikely that they would trial something like this in East London?
It was NOT trialled in any Eastern Cape exchange area.
1st June 2010 across the board

Although nowhere near being official (I trust wikipedia with my life though!!!), here is the only piece of news even related to the Telkom upgrade: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telkom_SA#Telkom_ADSL
Once again, we need official word from Telkom... and this information is not even cited...
According to this article
- 384k to 512k
- 512k to 1MB
and for a fee!! only 4mb user wll be upgraded for free. Eh, we should probably wait for Telkom
Thanks for the link djEJ
