Might not be the most sparkling performance but grinding out wins at the end of the season is still impressive.

Morne has got to go now. Schoolboy passing errors. Flat on attack. Can't catch the ball. And screws up numerous penalty touch finders. His time is up. And I have to disagree on the Lambie comment. He had a solid few minutes.

That disallowed try call where the TV ref accused Morne (who else) of knocking on was ridiculous. My score prediction would have been nearly spot on if it wasn't for that... :D

I really can't bring myself to be pissed off about a 50/50 call going against the team that made the stupi, unforced handling error.

Morne's fsckups nearly all turned in to opportunities. Probably because they all expect him to cock up so they have to straddle support on him all the time... :p

What a shocker of a game ..... stupid schoolboy rugby by the usual suspects, very few gems tonight. Vermeulen and Alberts impressed me again, as did Willie and JP.

The service he got from Pienaar was ****. I hate watching the Springboks games where Pienaar plays. Apart from his errors his passing is predictable and has a very clear delay before he throws it. There is a problem with his technique and if we want to win the world cup we must just hope that Pienaar isn't in the squad.

Happy with the win but I think the year long season has taken its toll on the team. Scrappy game but a win is a win..

I'm no longer a very big Pienaar fan but the only time he had slow service was when he waited for the forward pods to get in position. His decision making is off sometimes, no doubt about that, but I had no issue with his service today. You cannot accuse Morne's fsckups in all departments on Pienaar...

, but I had no issue with his service today. .
I cannot watch a game he plays due to his passing technique. This game you might not have noticed it but when we play top teams where we don't dominate the possession and the ball gets slowed down his service compared to Du Preez, Hougaard or any top international scrumhalf for that matter is blatantly obvious.

I've watched him plenty and I don't see any technical errors in his service. His decision making? Yes. Service from the breakdown? Definitely not. BTW, we didn't dominate possession today and we didn't dominate the breakdown either, so according to you it should have been evident. I rate Fourie as a better scrumhalf with Hougaard when he was in top form a second. Ruan third. As we stand now he's our number 2 and I've heard no commentators make mention of poor service technique. Heyneke doesn't see it. PDiv didn't see it. John Plumtree didn't see it. Jake White didn't see it. And Mark Anscombe doesn't see it.

Technically his service is great and his fetching the ball from tight breakdowns is on a par with Fourie's which is where it really counts against a side like New Zealand. He just needs to evaluate a little better when under pressure and not be so quick to go to the boot...

Pretty bleh performance, tbh. Some standout performances: Vermeulen, Alberts, Le Roux and Pietersen. Oosthuizen had a decent shot in the scrum and a nice steal to boot. Steyn and Pienaar need to go. And our discipline, ffs. 9 out of 11 games we get yellow carded. The French were also quite miserable, though.

I'm getting seriously pissed off with Lambie being treated like a naughty schoolboy. Only gets to play like 8 minutes. If Meyer doesn't want him to play, then don't select him, ffs.

It's pretty clear there's still a yawning gulf between us and the All Blacks.

That being said, I think we can be quite happy with the year. 3rd best Springbok showing in a calendar year since the professional era began. Lots to work on, I think. But also a couple of very promising prospects going forward.

I must mention once again that Strauss had a bit of a shocker once he got on the pitch. Second in a row and not like him at all. I honestly think he's carrying some sort of niggle as he appears to be afraid to take running ball into contact at the moment...

Yeah, his tactical kicking was quite solid, but he just does stupid stuff sometimes. Like that chargedown he gave away. He can see there are no forward defending him, but he still goes for it. Puts the team under unnecessary pressure.

I would have liked to see Vermaak get a run, actually.

Let's be fair - Louw's yellow was as soft as they get. I agree with what we discussed a few weeks ago, that decisions relating to cards need to be reviewed by the TV ref. His hand to the face was a nothing-incident, and the frogs got away with a helluva lot of ill-discipline themselves. Dusatoire's punch in the ruck comes to mind.

And you're right about Le Roux - he had a sterling game once again. He's come to the party and shone on this tour and deserves every accolade he gets on this break. He's been sublime and I can't see Kirchner making a return, even if Willie gets injured. Lambie can slot in easily at fullback, and Steyn needs to be there too, even if just for his defence and long-kicking abilities. Jacque Fourie needs to go in place of Steyn, and we're then covered by two multi-purpose players who can slot in easily at fullback.

I see Jake White has put his foot down about Lambie and said that he's been messed around and will play no.10 and that's that. Good for him, and about bloody time...

Those fields in the Northern Hemisphere should be banned. I am sure it's a tactic they use to take the powerful scrummaging of the South out.
Cr@py game but oh so glad we clapped the frogs. The ref was also a bit blind to 3 penalties we could have had.
