Steyn at 10 and Lambie at fullback, with Willie on the bench?

Damn, it's a shame that Willie isn't in the first 15. I also don't like seeing Flip van der Merwe there. Otherwise the team is good.
*edit*

I'm surprised to see Engelbrecht picked over Serfontein too.

Yeah, it's retarded. It's like Meyer doesn't actually want Lambie to be in the team, but he just includes him so people don't moan too much.

Why has du Preez been allowed to play in these tests? Anyone know?

The Springbok team to face Wales in Cardiff is:

15. Pat Lambie 29 caps 55 points - Happy he is starting
14. JP Pietersen 48 caps 70 points - Not sure I would have started him
13. Jaque Fourie 69 caps 160 points - If he is as good as he was when he left he will be great
12. Jean de Villiers (captain) 93 caps 120 points - Would have rested him or at least played from he bench.
11. Bryan Habana 92 caps 265 points
10. Morné Steyn 51 caps 618 points - Would have played Lambie
9. Fourie du Preez 65 caps 70 points
8. Duane Vermeulen 13 caps 5 points
7. Willem Alberts 27 caps 30 points
6. Francois Louw 25 caps 25 points
5. Flip van der Merwe 31 caps 5 points
4. Eben Etzebeth 20 caps 0 points
3. Frans Malberhe 0 caps 0 points
2. Bismarck du Plessis (v-captain) 54 caps 40 points
1. Tendai Mtawarira 50 caps 10 points

Replacements:
16. Adriaan Strauss 30 caps 25 points
17. Gurthrö Steenkamp 46 caps 30 points
18. Coenie Oosthuizen 11 caps 5 points
19. Pieter-Steph du Toit 0 caps 0 points - Very happy with his inclusion
20. Siya Kolisi 8 caps 0 points
21. Ruan Pienaar 71 caps 130 points
22. JJ Engelbrecht 10 caps 20 points
23. Willie le Roux 9 caps 15 points

I am not convinced coenie is enough cover if something was to happen to Malherbe.

From what I can see this almost like World Cup squad of 2011. Now just to bring Matfield and Bekker back.

And I understand Meyer wants to win, but why not use the EOYT to give the fringe players a go and see what they can do ?

Looks to me like he is using this EOYT as a trial run for RWC 2015...

Going for beef and defensive ability in the backline is my guess. The Welsh have some tanks in their backline as well as pace.

Because he has to meet targets as well. Also throwing the fringe players to the wolves will not help anyone.

Only thing missing from this squad is Rory Kockott...

+1. Swap Rory in for Pienaar and we are golden.

+1 million
Pienaar = Probably the only SA sport star i hate more than Faf. Krusty also deserves a worthy mention, thank heavens he is not in the match 23.

Another thing i don't understand, we have a huge problem with tight head props at the moment, last time i checked BJ Botha was one of the most feared tight heads in world rugby, why is he not selected?
I hear Brian Mujati is also playing some very good rugby over seas, why is he also skipped?
Now we are playing Pine Pienaar's body double Frans Malherbe, i cant say i have even noticed him the past Super15.

Edit, look at this guy, he makes the Beast look small.

And here we have the less intimidating Frans Malherbe

And here we have Pine Pienaar
