nice bench for a change :)

Not many "players of colour" --- might be some crap there.

Zane Kirchner, JP Pietersen, Bryan Habana,Tendai Mtawarira.

+1 Olivier with his Body on Tap hair counts as a girl :p:D

I am happy to see Olivier start. I am not a fan of him but this season he has done nothing wrong. He was the best inside centre in the S14, and one of the top 2 in the CC.

Also nice to see our front row packed with power. The Irish scrums are also not great so we might actually be getting the advantage at scrum time. Lets hope the boks have not forgotten how to use it since its been such a long time.

I think we're gonna take this. My only prediction: Meisiekind will put in a brilliant tackling effort against the leprechauns.

I think with it being the last game of the season our guys will stand up mentally and physically. Knowing home is only a day or so away generally helps things.

(Please note all the RP/MS fanboi's - this thread is not to bash the one or the other, there are 22 players in a team)

A bit rude to start a thread about rugby and then dictate what people can and can't talk about. It is about the Boks. If Morne had a great game it will be discussed. If Morne has another shocker it will be discussed.

By the way there was already an end of year European tour thread anyway. Do you get bonus points for starting lots of threads?

Oh you're one of the haters huh  He's a weak prop (not useless, just weak), an awesome hooker and a magnificent captain but you wanna get rid of him ...... gawd.

Yip, haters for sure. Prop is a specialist position. All things considered he has been exceptional. Further to this I cannot see any harm in having someone on the field who, if he were to now play hooker, could slot into the prop position if the need arose and have experience doing so.

Further to this as correctly stated by you they need to find a position for him just for his captaincy. We have seen on numerous occasions what happens to the Boks when he leaves the field. We have also seen the Boks performances under the captaincy of Victor. Superb lock. Not so great as Bok captain.

The problem is Bismarck is a better hooker performance wise (at least the last 4-6 months)

What is that conclusion based on? Smit has not played hooker in the last 4-6 months! Actually based on that you are 100% correct. Bismarck has been a far better hooker performance wise in the last 4-6 months than John!

Go Boks.

Um, you do realise that Ireland are the reigning six nations champions? Further to this Leinster are the reigning Heineken Cup holders.

They are up against the Trinations Champions. And a lot of the reigning Super 14 champions.

This test has been spoken of as the unofficial 4th B&I Lions test...

The North desperately wants to prove their strength against the best of the South.

There would be something dramatically wrong with rugby if a confrontation of such a calibre did not illicit some debate and discussion from the fans.

To add some further spice to today's proceeding, there is some bad blood between these two teams it appears (or maybe it is just the British media playing it up) :

For those Irishmen like O’Driscoll involved on the Lions trip there are scores to settle, even if it is a different jersey. Nine of the 10 are involved in the squad today, an injured Luke Fitzgerald the exception.

It is ironic while Fitzgerald is absent, the Springbok who eye-gouged him in the second Test, Schalk Burger, is free to play after a scandalously short eight-week suspension [stupid Irish!]. The reception from an 82,300 crowd at Croke Park for Burger will be spicy.

The bad blood flows both ways with Springbok captain John Smit claiming a “senior Irish player” instructed the Lions to reject the offer of a comradely beer in the changing rooms after each Test.

“We don’t know why they made a decision contrary to the ethos of rugby, but we do know we made the effort,” wrote Smit in his book Captain in the Cauldron. “We thought, ‘To hell with them’ and that snub added to the needle that was there in all three Tests and it made the series victory all the sweeter.”

I hear what you say but in all honesty, there is a whole thread dedicated to the Ruan Pienaar and M Steyn debate. A previous thread was closed because you and a couple of other people just could stop the arguments over M Steyn and R Pienaar - and it got somewhat personal.

Yes, if Steyn has got a bad game today - discuss it here and the same with Ruan Pienaar, but I really think that rugby is way more than just two players. They are not the only players that can have good or bad games, and face it - both of them will have a bad game somewhere along the line.

Hallelujah!

Please feel free to search this forum to find posts by myself stating those exact things. Rugby is a team sport and every player has a bad day. It is there, I can guarantee it.

PS You may note that the Ruan /Morne thread has not been dug up since the 10/11/2009. When was Morne's first "bad" game? 13/11/2009. Does it not make you wonder who the real culprits are in this "battle"?

Get off your pedestal. Funny how you do not notice that the things you accuse most people that dont rate RP of is axactly what you do. As blind as some are to RP's talent you are to MS's.

As to the game in a bit: I think today our scrums will be a positive rather than a worry. We are missing a 8th man like spies but im sure between kanko and rossouw we will make it. The irish will suffer at the breakdown if brussouw has a normal -> good game.

Looking forward to seeing if Olivier can make it and if Kirschner keeps improving.

Nice one Schalk! You show those stupid Irish!
