:crylaugh:

Crikey. I can see your work from my home (almost). My wife used to work at BetterBond, which is right around the corner from there as well.

It's not far, no. I walked from that area as well in 2013/14 when I still watched a lot of cricket live. If there's one thing I despise, it's having to fight off car guards.

so.

no AB for the NZ test series

not going to post in the proteas our team thread because that thread is filled with SJW warriors who claim the KOLPAK players are not leaving because of Quota selection, and that is not an argument I want to have again.

Just read the article and came here to catch up on the discussion - not sure what to make of it TBH. not retiring but making himself unavailable?

the way I see it, shorter formats allows him more time to rest, so it is a more gradual introduction again.

play the T20 and ODI games, being rested between games, so he does not hurt the elbow more.

if we want to see real commitment, he will make himself unavailable for the IPL. but at the same time, it is game time before the champions trophy.

if he does not play in the IPL he may win back a lot of faith from SA fans who are saying he is doing it for money.

is he ready to play tests again? not sure. he does not think so.
will he perform in the T20? we will have to wait and see.

he seems to be convinced he is playing in the third T20. will he be capitain or will Fudge be capitain? will he work well under fudge?

we have to wait and see.

I have listened to the interview on 702, but I could not find the one he did on 94.7 because I hate the station...

R100.00 - R150.00 for tickets. Not too bad. Grass tickets are not too bad, and for that price, I'm seriously considering going.

Sales are probably not very good. I was considering going, but I don't want to go watch a bunch of fringe players being captained by Behardien, and I suspect many others are having the same thoughts. I believe in the concept of playing your best players when it comes to representing your country, not resting players for what you consider unimportant matches...

I see the this T20 section as an oppertunity to blood new players.

why has AB said what he did? he plays too much.
why was Amala's form in a lul? he plays too much.

it is 2017 now, we can have 3 seperate teams, a T20 team, a ODI team and a test team.

there is no reason to over play the big stars and never give young talent an oppertunity to come up.
I am exited to see Jon Jon play in the green and gold.

looking though the T20 team first reaction is "no Hash, no QDK, no Rabada, no Faf and no JP(look up his T20 stats before you knock him) whats the point in watching the game!"

but them you look up the team that is selected, and its pretty much the best of the local T20 championship. so the guys playing here see that there is hope. new playes get experience, a good season is rewarded for berhardien.

yes I agree he should not capitain, but I am not sure who should.

this T20 series is going to be exiting to watch, mark my words.

IPL 2017 Schedule is yet to be announced by the governing council of the Indian premier League . As per the previous sessions of the IPL it might also schedule to start from April 2017 to May 2017 .

With his talent, he'd be stupid to not do it for the money as well. It secures his future, after all, and at 32, he doesn't have so many years left. Basically, nobody can judge him if he does play in the IPL.

Agreed. Made up my mind, combined with what Baxteen said. No money anyway.

In years gone by players played more cricket, and suffered less injuries, now everyone talks about rest.

I can understand about the IPL, but not at the expense of playing for SA.

while I do agree, he has been playing IPL for years. he has a lucrative recording contract, because AFR music makes money somehow.
combined with sponsorships deals, and the ad revenue he has been part of in the IPL.

Money is not the first thing he thinks of anymore. and I think after the 2015 World cup, he wants to take a bit more responsibility and get the one thing money cant buy. a world cup trophy.

Since his injury, I have the sneaky suspicion that he is going to retire from test cricket to focus on shorter formats. He will play in tests during the England series and retire afterwards. I think the same might go for #.

Is there anything more that AB can do in tests? Barring moving up the lists in terms of runs, etc? He was part of the squad that was Nr 1 in the world. Beaten Oz and England away...Maybe beat Oz at home (Not sure if he achieved that).

In essence, I think he still wants an ICC trophy before he retires. His main focus appears to be CWC2019.

Above is my conspiracy theory....... :)

But I can, because I'm reasonable. No player would put his country above his own well-being, and he shouldn't - for the reasons I've mentioned.
