Our power in Erasmuskloof (Pta East) went off at 19h00 last night and still off, the Tshwane supposedly world class African city Twitter page has nothing, tells you to report the fault to a SMS number but did that twice with zero response.

Anyone with any idea what's going on?

No, SS probably tripped. According to Twitter "northern" JHB is also off. We were meant to come on at 4:30 and are still off. Like clockwork they restore after LS and the SS trips so we're off 8/9 hours. EVERY TIME  :mad:

Confirm. The website was just a mess, their call centre was not reacting, the SMS system failed, and the power switching system also failed! So there we are, this nonsense of switching back and forth between stage 4 to 2 to 4 is making a laughing stock of TSH's systems as these are being adversely affected by the LS schedules.
It means that TSH itself has NO reliable backup for the very systems they need to manage LS effectively!

Good guess, but nope. Tshwane 'world class African city' (it say so on their twitter lol) finally woke up 2hours ago (only 22.5 hours late!) and posted that Erasmuskloof sub was vandalised, leaving Erasmuskloof ,Wingate and parts of Moreleta without electricity.Wanna guess who the vandals were?

Slight delay in power going off at midnight (Zone 11 CT), but its definitely Stage 4 overnight...

Edit: Woke early to hear generator at Spar 200m away (in a different zone). Better get going before 8am when power goes off here again. FFS, this is tiring...

Phew, just finished 2 hours of shedding. Getting sick and tired of having to wake up at weird times to keep turning stuff on and off...

Seems like I am getting a break this round, power is going of at very convenient times, either when I am at work or sleeping.

It would be interesting to see where most of the load shedding is done. My understanding is that households and small to medium size businesses are "shed" in order to keep major industry (say Toyota and Mondi in Durban say) going as their shutting, even for an hour, would lose them a week to re start and backup power is just not possible. Then there is hospitals and probably "important" government offices etc that don't get load shed.

Is the reality is that some subsidise others?

Hospitals aren't immune to load shedding, haven't been for a long time.
