5 days of loadshedding would normally be the headline on all the media sites.

Now it's half-way down the page as govt corruption and failures fill all the top spots.

Sadly welcome to SA where load shedding isn't really headline news anymore :-(
Been around since October 2007 , almost 15 years, so it pretty much part of life now anyway , dont see why people are surprised when it happens.

Yup, I mean sure we had some years of relief, 2015 through to 2018 and 2009 to 2014.

Maybe, but we all knew it was going to happen again and again ad infinitum, it was just a case of when and how often and long.

Think its more that South Africans are such docile good dogs who sit around and get scammed by their government and terrible economy and enjoy it.

Even the most friendly dog would attack after 15+ years of abuse. South Africans ? Nah, i still hear people 'WOOOOOO' when the power goes out and they just get drunk.

Adapt or die.
No point raging against the machine when all that happens is one remains constantly angry and stressed about stuff that is beyond ones control to change in the near future.

Change is extremely easily, but not with docile animals.

But god forbid to tell the same people to put a mask covering on, now that's destroying the economy. Not the power grid run by thieves. Billions of Rands, gone into nothing. We could have a whole new grid by now, but nah.

But this is South Africa. The laziest country on the planet. Load Shedding is a nice and easy excuse to get out of work, and get drunk, and its an easy way for corruption to make money thanks to selling the energy they steal from us, to neighboring countries for a higher premium. But hey.

Problem is the wife needs to run a professional hairdryer of 2200W. There aren't alternatives for her to use.
Yeah true
But what I meant is just get a small grid tied system to help with normal day to day stuff there at home.
The first 1500 Watts is free for 10 hours a day while ESKOM is running
Equals 15 000 Wh which is about 40 bux a day in savings, every single day when ESKOM is running and the sun is shining.

So now when there is loadshedding and you have to run your fuel generator you do not have to feel so bad about spending bux to keep it running. I hope that makes sense, I am multi tasking here at work like a mofo and men are not that good at it.

These bliksems are costing us way more than just frustration and money.
Been sweating blood this whole week after eating chicken that must have gone off after the last power cut we had.

Basically botched an interview on Monday after feeling like a sack of d1cks while looking like a holocaust survivor.
Followed by numerous conf calls for work not getting done, interspersed between sessions of staring at piss stained limescale at the bottom of my toilet.

Yes, I blame the ANC.

No, they are just being themselves... the blame lies with those who voted for them knowing that after 20+years, they are just going to be themselves

That is in the pipeline and especially with the current cost of electricity. I'm looking at going balls deep into the biggest system that has the least red tape. I know once you go over a certain size, it becomes an admin nightmare with CoCT.

Will only do a non-feed.

you'd need a 5kw system for that

As my wife works 8-5, the generator is not such a big pain for when I do get a solar system as then she can just do an on-demand start of the generator.

My ultimate is to combine both generator and solar for the house. For now, we run leads (no dead man leads) to where we need it using a proper cable and plug boxes.
