As my wife works 8-5, the generator is not such a big pain for when I do get a solar system as then she can just do an on-demand start of the generator.

My ultimate is to combine both generator and solar for the house. For now, we run leads (no dead man leads) to where we need it using a proper cable and plug boxes.
That will one day be my ultimate as well.

I bought a friend a 12v hair dryer as a joke a few years ago. Was cheap, like R350 at the time, maybe less
She loves it and uses it when camping

It gets the job done

Again & Again SA shows they're a failed state. Never stopped & never will. So how is the Bullet Train coming?

Strangely enough power alert indicates that we're about 2GW up from yesterday, but oh well.

Can't wait for the electricity prices to go up in April! I mean the price increases don't affect me one bit....during load shedding.

You might be lucky, sometimes some areas just don't get hit, are you in JHB?

Like my younger brother, same town diff suburb.

His section is shared with a hospital and almost never see any load shedding even when we where on level 4 he saw nothing.

lucky bastad. :(

That's bizarre as load shedding effects hospitals as well, I know we lived right next to one and it got hit. Also when my MIL was in baragwanth last year it was hit.

Thats odd, as it was the only conclusion we could jump to as his power is never out.

He might just be one of the lucky few that don't get hit, I have friends who are in an area with no government facility and they never get hit. Might be on the border of 2 suburbs or something.

The song of our nation is playing all around me in my neighborhood while my panels are soaking up the sun.

I've got the smaller one, the eu10i. No regrets. It's quiet and doesn't use a lot of fuel.
