Eskom announces immediate Stage 2 power cuts

Eskom has announced that Stage 2 load-shedding will be implemented immediately after unit 5 at Medupi power station tripped, taking 700MW of capacity with it.

“A full statement will be published in due course,” Eskom said.

Eskom announces when Stage 2 load-shedding will end

Eskom has announced that it expects to end Stage 2 load-shedding at 05:00 on Tuesday.

This comes after the state-owned power utility announced that it had to immediately implement rotational power cuts on Monday after unit 5 at Medupi power station tripped, taking 700MW of generating capacity offline.

2 of the larger ones have been restored but they are syncing, so they'll bring up 1400mw or so, warmer weather tomorrow show lower demand by a bit as well. Our demand is 3GW more then last night.

Diesel must be on special at the rate eskom burns it at.

Don't think eskom planned for over 32000mw before winter

Yup don't think so either, what with the cold coming a bit earlier and the rains demand was high,really high.
