These muppets even cock up loadshedding.
Yup and as soon as power came back it tripped sigh, and we're off again at 2pm, who's bright idea was this 2 hour schedule? Cause seriously it's sometimes worse then the 4.

Not exactly an option though but yeah, that's pretty much it, although I think the guy who left in 2003 already knew this.
I know this. What I'm getting at is the following: Has there's been a company or companies besides Escom who applied for a license/s to produce power? Sell it directly to a municipality, consumer straight bypassing Escom and provide a cheaper rate? I'm just asking.

No, Eskom is the only one allowed. You can thank NERSA. The tides are turning though, albeit, SLOWLY.

City Power has no freaking clue, they are like we're not load shedding, it's like yeah, yeah you are, can you start turning us back on now.
They're still putting out the statement that loadshedding is only at night.
That after correcting themselves when Eskom said continuous laod shedding for the week.
Who the hell do they employ over there?

No idea, but I'm not 2 hours over my first session and also got 4 hours till my next session so looks like I'll have no power for the day.

We had an outage on Monday at 10am, came back at 2am yesterday. Then load shedding at 8pm yesterday and hasn't come on since.

Apparently while they were repairing the load shedding fault, some thieves rocked up and stole the cables. Shots fired between thieves and security company. This whole thing is becoming a joke...

In Cape Town there are a couple of companies looking to lease rooftop space from buildings that have large flat roofs.
The proposal is they install solar panels and other equipment & the host building gets "x" amount of free power usage.
The additional power is fed into CoCT's grid under some kind of rental, or sub-lease of rooftop space.
The theory is no power is actually sold - the property rental fees entitle use of, or access to power generated on the property site.

This was the proposal about a yr back, will try to find out more
