What stage 6 load-shedding does to DStv

MultiChoice CFO Tim Jacobs said a direct correlation exists between increased load-shedding and a decline in active DStv subscribers. Still, there are positive signs for the pay-TV operator.

Jacobs shared information about the impact of load-shedding on the DStv subscriber base in South Africa during MultiChoice’s inaugural capital markets day.

It is causing the whole economy to collapse and all businesses to scale down and close down. There is no exception. No single business more affected than another. It is game over for SA. If you have a business and have not moved abroad as yet, prepare to go bankrupt real soon.

Go and kraai at Lithuli house, Tim.

I am not the one who's going to help you.

Imagine they didn't limit streams during stage 6 load shedding. Just imagine.
What do you mean limit streams? I don't have DSTV, never really have so I'm not trying to be obtuse

Only one man can fix Dstv

They limited online streams to 1, whereas in the past you could do 4. So now it's load shedding and people stream from their phones, they can't cause only 1 can. So people cancel.

well F me, i thought the price would be the reason
Honestly the price isn't really that bad, considering how streaming services are crapping themselves over content and dropping stuff and increasing prices. DSTV prices are high, but you can extract some decent content out of it that isn't even on streaming services, plus I get Showmax for mahala...

I was expecting them to say this is why the quality of the streams is so shite or keeps fluctuating.
