2009-02-07 AUTOBANK CASH WITHDRAWAL AT MORELETA PK 1 15H11 R 500.00-
2009-02-07 SERVICE FEE ## R 7.65-

At some stage Standard Bank decided to make their ATM fees "flexible" on savings accounts. They must be suffering from some kind of mental retardation.

I needed to draw some cash (which I rarely have to do), I should just have used my Capitec card and paid the fixed R6.50 and saved R1.15 for drawing a measly R500 at the ATM...

Hey dude, any update on those questions on Capitect I had?
Still interested, but I think I should rather go to FNB.

No airtime. Well, thats the only question I can recall. I'm drafting a letter about how they can improve their website...

What was the other question? Well, anything but ABSA and SB might be good...

I paid almost R6.00 to draw only R250 the other day! I really hope the compitition commission rip the banks to pieces with that report that was leaked! The banks should really be forced to lower their fees!

Yeah, they've changed it from a flat fee to a base fee plus a percentage of the amount you're drawing. Makes the fees a lot higher.

I don't think it's actually that much more - the base fee is higher, but the % portion is still the same, I think.

Okay, looked it up: for plusplan/puresave/Marketlink accounts, it's R3.90 + 1.03% to draw from SB's ATMs. For any other bank's ATMs, it the R3.90 + 1.03% + R6.70.

Yoh!!!

I think I will just use my capitec card on the SB ATMs now and hope capitec don't raise their prices insanely...

In December, we had to draw R20 000 in cash from one of our company's accounts (don't ask!) and the banking costs on the transaction was R 210.
