Star trails photography in cape town

Hi all,

I'd like to try my hand at star trails photography in cape town but I'd like to get a clear star filled sky. So this naturally means getting about an hour or 2 out of the city. Does anyone know any good, and safe, spots outside of the city with minimal light pollution and a good setting for a cool pic?

What about Beaverlac.You can camp at the same time and the skies are super clear.

Kwaggaskloof damn is also a great spot, just outside Worcester. sky supper clean and its an awesome camping spot. but there is very limited space so pick a quiet time to go.
