Starlink estimated availability date for South African pre-orders has been pushed back a year

Starlink setback in South Africa

South Africans who have pre-ordered SpaceX's Starlink will have to wait another year before they can access the much-hyped satellite Internet service.

Multiple MyBroadband forum members have said the estimated availability date of their orders had changed from 2022 to 2023 during the past week.

Saw this coming though, plus even if it was on target they still have to fight ICASA and all the others locally to get 3 or so base stations/ground relays setup.

SpaceX has too much pride, and /cough ego, to admit to any regulatory challenges, and though this may be the truth,

“We apologise for the delay and are working hard across our engineering, supply chain, and production teams to improve and streamline our product and factory to increase our production rate.”

It is not the whole truth, some territories come with unique challenges.

Just my view.
