Yip. I think a service that will potentially one day be globally available and that no government will be able to shutdown or censor must represent an existential threat to some territories. Bring it on.

When this opens up for the general public, what will the speeds be then?

Do clouds/storms interrupt the service (like DSTV always claimed)?

I'm hoping it gives me low latency for users in Aus/US time zones.

Well they only have upper latitudes northern hemisphere coverage at this time, so might be a while - but the rumour is around mid-2022.
Hmmm, I wonder if they cover parts of Asia. I am currently at the same latitude as some of the northern US states (Idaho, Oregon).

Well if the Starlink vision is allowed to grow to fulfilment, and they do launch here in SA/Africa, the local ISP’s are gonna poep their broekies.
