Using the white HD decoder and the EPG is not the best.

That's what I'm afraid of.

I will get one and just keep it as a spare until my TopTV decoder breaks. Already on my 2nd decoder.

Used up 2 black ones and bought the white one. Good thing is that you can see the channel number on the decoder.

Seems odd, maybe StarSat are trying to stop people using the old TopTV decoders hence the R99 promo. IIRC I paid R399 for the HD decoder from Makro, still got the old one with card in a cupboard somewhere.

Wanted to keep one as a spare until the other one packed up or try a dual view setup. StarSat did confirm now that they were correct in keeping the old card.

Yes, at OK Furniture, but I believe that House and Home will have them as well soon.

So far I like the new HD decoder's EPG. Under channel management you can delete all the channels you will never watch. If you ever want them back you only reset the decoder.

I only need to figure out how you scroll through the EPG without changing the channel you are currently watching.

It sounds good, but the EPG just shows Bundesliga (for this coming saturday), not the teams who are playing or even if the game is live. Not enough to convince me:

I'm on the R199 Super Package and at the moment the sport channels are included. If they take the sport channels away and charge an extra R99 for it, they can STUFF it. I don't watch Bundesliga/soccer unless it is World Cup. I want SA Rugby/Cricket, F1 ect...
