TopTV_Wizard...

3 weeks no TopTV, wtf is going on?
Worked for 10 mins a few days ago, operator said then it would be fixed in an hour or so. Still nothing.
I have to re-enable DSTV so that i could watch some thing.

Just got my dish installed today, from buying it on Sunday to watching TopTV within 10 minutes of the installer leaving my house - very pleased with the service. Channels are good. Reception is great.. lets see how it goes.

The TopTV guide on there website really sucks.

I want to see whats on all the channels at the same time, not one at a time.

I bought the toptv decoder on wed 02 june from house & home jhb east...phone first installer they said its gonna be 7 to 14 days, second installer told me friday 04 june he will send the guys, today they came less then a half hour it was installed, i phone toptv they took my details and gave me customer no, after 10mints wow i was watching the toptv.
when i heard peoples stories, i thought its gonna be headache but not at all.

"Manipulation"? That sounds like you're approaching this with a slight negative bias.
Kojak is on at a number of different times on different days. According the the tv guide, today's episode is at 8:30pm, and it's repeated again at 3:25am and just after 10pm tomorrow, followed by 5am on the 3rd and 8:30pm on the 8th.

It's the same as accusing DSTV of manipulation because "Baywatch" is showing at 10:30pm tonight on MNet Series. Just because it's on late today doesn't mean that it's always on late, and doesn't mean that DSTV are manipulating something because of the show time. (Not even sure what you're accusing them of manipulating)
Well according to the guide it was on at 11pm for most of the week, if not every day. The owners are very conservative, which is why I suspect it was because of language.

2/5/2010 purchased decoder
3/5/2010 After 6 hours of dialling left my details on voice mail
4/5/2010 Sent a email to sales department
7/5/2010 Received a response to my email at 14:00
8/5/2010 No further than on the 2/5/2010 may as well of not bought the decoder
I received a call from TopTV consultant on the 21/4/2010 assuring me my installation would be sorted out by the 25/5/2010.
The installer phoned me on the 22/5/2010 also promissing the installation would be done on the 25/5/2010. Following numerous calls to the installer he keeps telling me it will be done tomorrow.
It is the 28/5/2010 and no isntallation done yet. (NON - Installer No: Vasko 0794803004 White River)
TOPTV well done 0000 0111 6870
Why the delay, do TOPTV have enough clients, how will you sort this out?

Anyone know the easiest way to cancel toptv subscription?

Everyone knows you can cancel by picking up the phone and calling the call center...... Duh!!!
..... or are you a DSTV employee trolling this forum?

I always thought if you really want to cancel something,the easiest way is the least of your concerns.

dingaanone, I hope your problem was solved.

However, you could have used some initiative - really.

I bought my decoder on the 8th of May, that is six days after you and I had it installed on the 16th of May (you were or are still waiting).

I knew their call centre was bogged with calls so I was strategically patient and made arrangements that they install my dish and decoder the following Saturday (15 May) i.e. while I was there. During the week I called several installers including the ones that TopTV consultants had recommended. To deal with the possible problem of possibly being stood up by one of them, I made three appointments for the same day and time. Guess what, only one pitched up. The job was done.

Calling TopTV was not easy either on the 8th of May when I bought my decoder. I called and was on hold for 15 minutes at a time (5 times), was sent to voicemail and left a message each time. On Sunday (9th of May), during the time that people normally go to church, I called - I got through. So, when my installation was done by Sats-r-us on the 15th of May, I knew exactly what time to call TopTV. The next day, Sunday (16 May @ 12 pm), I was happily watching my TopTV. Why? Because I took initiative. Why, because this is an unprecedented circumstance (new pay-TV in South Africa) and initiative is the only way to get things done.

Stop whining ‘dingaanone’ and be proactive - i.e. think and act. No one will do it for you and nothing happens automatically.

You've been moaning for more than three weeks and counting yet you did absolutely nothing.

Any news on the quality of SABC channels? My SO wanted to watch the movie on SABC2, but the quality was exceptionally bad.

we have no problems with SABC anymore, must be your install or something.

Is the Installer List at TopTV new, or was I hibernating?

I still have not been installed. No contact from ODM/TopTV even after I was debited R450 and having it reversed.

Is my next step to contact an installer and skip them completely? To be honest if I never have to speak to anyone there I would appreciate it. Worse service or no service ever..

No need to even have bothered with the other people :p

:erm: Sats-Я-us stood me up 3 times before telling me they where not installing top tv due to non payment. All in all they shunted me around for a week before telling me to find someone else to install. Considering that everyone else continued to install and all of them got paid... poor.
I called one other installer and it was installed no problem.
