Top TV RF interference.
I am very impressed with my Top TV service and enjoying content and quality of signal but I would be interested to hear your comments on a situation where my L C D screen displays faint diagonal lines.(even from the first day of installation when the "This card not authorised" was displayed) The Top TV satellite decoder is connected to the AV input via high end AV cable, no RF used. Tried switching off everything in the room - Computer plus modem, wireless headphones and moved the decoder away from the screen. Even changed the RF setting on the decoder, even though I was not using RF, as a final troubleshooting but nothing above changed the interference. Having had a number of DSTV installations at various houses over the years, I have never seen this before on non RF connections. Crosstalk was something I experienced nearly twenty years ago. I would appreciate your input.

Due to a minor set-back, I had to revert back to an old 84cm CRT TV, with no RCA input.

I thought "No problem, theirs a RF input/output on the decoder"... But the problem is that the video is so poor on channel where Top TV is picked-up, but the audio is fine. Indecently, the rest of the channels are also unusable when the aerial is routed through the decoder! When I remove the decoder from the setup, the terrestrial channels are fine.

The conclusion that I make, is that there is a major signal loss in the decoder (or on the RF output).

Any suggestions, or is the RF on my decoder buggered?

I get faint lines on my pc but think its nose from a fan and a not properly magnetically sealed tvcard.

no issues whatsoever on my tv (RF is not as good quality as AVI but still fine).

Turn the tv volume down. Perhaps you have it to high, and are using the toptv to control the audio.

Keep calling the call center. If that proves futile, send Top_TV Wizard a PM with your details and I'm sure you will be assisted.

Mine took forever to get installed, but with a bit of perseverance they eventually came out to do my installation. Hang in there!

I phoned TopTV this afternon from the office to also activate movie channels they answered the phone immediately.
Got home at 18.45 and channels were still blocked. Decided to take to phone, they answered immediately spend 4 min on phone and everything worked.
So they are still open after 18.00

I got the message via SMS with my customer reference number, then I get the message that "Please contact Mr Me 083MyNumber regards 2 installations Customer num xyz regards Top TV".

Is this sent out to the installer assigned to me and copied to me, or did they cross the wires with this one?

My installation also took almost 2 weeks, but since then I have been up and running and enjoying something other than SABC channels.

What decoders can one use for TopVT ? or are they the same as DSTV where they only allow their decoders to work?

Yes please! I am especially interested in finding out if the dreambox decoders will work. It looks like they have a lot of useful functions.
