Hi All

I have a customer that is wanting to start a tv channel. How would a person go about it in south africa. the breakout from the "control room" will be fibre, multiple if needed and he wants to be able to have the channel running all day, Where can I get pricing of transponders, the licence that might be needed and what equipment is all needed. And would 1GBps fibre be enough as to my understanding is that he will send signal to whatever provider EG OVHD or Top TV and then they distrubute from there side. He wants to get it off the ground as soon as possible and I am sure that ICCASA is going to be the longest wait. Need to try get pricing to him by end of today. It is a church channel he wants to run, something almost the same as Rhema but wants to broadcast 24/7, selling air space to customers.

Sentech is one of the groups to talk to. Even if you don't end up using their services, they'll have a decent idea of what sort of lines you'll need.
