I often get asked, "How much does it cost to develop an e-commerce website?"

I then get into the details explaining the process, often for them to realize that its as easy as just learning the basics and then building on top of that using a Content Management System (Wordpress / Shopify).

I've developed many different e-commerce solutions for small/medium businesses and the tools out there are becoming increasingly simple so that anyone with a good idea can be taught to do it themselves.

How many of you guys here would be interested in a workshop on how to build your own e-commerce website?
If there's enough interest, I'll host a workshop probably on a Saturday somewhere in Johannesburg and cover the following topics:

--Woocommerce / Wordpress basics - This gives your online store life!
--eCommerce Fundamentals - Why you should sell online and how to do it
--Building your very own AWESOME e-commerce website
--Basics of the AIDA sales funnel - How to get paying customers
--Good Landing Page Design, and how to design for Mobile First
--Marketing your ecommerce store
--Common mistakes to avoid
--Google Adwords Basics
--Facebook Ads Basics
--Google Anayltics Basics
--Why usability is important (And how to make customers love your store)
--Plus a ton of knowledge from other e-commerce store owners, some of them who will even come from this forum

Cost: Probably between R500 - R900
--This would go towards finding a decent venue, great food and refreshments and sponsorships/deals from local e-commerce / hosting companies.

Interested? Comment here and I'll pm you the details once its finalized. I personally guarantee that there will be tremendous value for anyone interested in attending. Let me know!

TIA

You should put up videos on YouTube. I'm sure many will find value in them. I would.

I personally think that I'll be able to better convey what I'm trying to do in person, especially with a hands on approach to actually creating it. Also for Q&A I think it might be important to initially do it in person?

BidOrBuy is a great platform for starting out. The nice thing is that BoB has a plugin for Woocommerce, so any new product you create on your online store automatically gets pushed, with all details and images, to BoB. So you can ultimately have two channels of getting your product sold.
