Telkom is guided by greed and has lived a sheltered life - so yes they are going to find it a tad difficult

This strategy would assist Telkom in competing against other emerging fixed-line telecoms operators, he said.

LMAO!!! :D That line could have impressed me if I didn't know better.

1. There is no threat to Telkom yet!
2. Telkom never needed assistance. With government on it's side it is doing just fine!

They are going to need a lot more than a new coat of paint at the top to change their monopolistic ways.
To hell with them.

He is also a former communications minister of Ghana.
I know someone from Ghana who told me that if they need a cable connection from one building to another, they take a CAT5 cable out the window, to the other building!!

In their streets, you see people running cables from one house to another. They even use the street lights to hang cables on. Sometimes the poles cannot take the weight and the fall over or someone else takes your cable down to make space for theirs. They have cables links going down on a regular basis.

I'm not sure if it is a good or a bad thing that this dude is on the board...

What is their stance on Open Access High Volume / Low Pricing connectivity

Taking out the emotion that is the standard posters attitude to Telkom, my question is this

What are the new board members attitudes/thinking on the Following subjects

1. SAT3 Exclusivity and the OCT/NOV 2007 "holy grail" Which way will they go.
2. Have they had any experience with an LLU process
3. Do they support the concept of ISM Bands being free
4. Are they free market thinkers
5. Do the view internet usage in an uncapped/unshapped model, or do they only use 3GB a month at home
6. do they pay their own families (Home) communications bills (Internet/Landline/Cell/HSDPA) in South Africa, and do they view the costs as excessive
7. Other Fibre coming into SA, not controlled by Telkom and ownership not dictated by the DOC

Give me a break!!! Your reported speech is hyper-exaggerated. Always cross-check before making reckless assertions! I'm in Ghana and know that what you typed is over exaggerated.

Bull ****! Seriously, BULL ****!

Experts? In who's opinion? The more I learn about this industry the more I learn that what you see and what is reality are two different things. Frankly this is the case in most industries in this country today. There are more qualified individuals than these three out there. I think these folks had some other "skills" government found appealing...
