State officials working with crime syndicates to steal millions - Report

Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Patricia de Lille has ordered a complete overhaul of the government's shambolic property management system after learning that government officials are manipulating it to steal millions of rand.

These officials are reportedly working with crime syndicates to make money off of government properties, including the following examples uncovered by the Sunday Times:

  • A former Johannesburg office clerk rented out seven state-owned properties and pocketed the R70,000 rental.
  • An Eastern Cape employee accepted two down payments of R20,000 for state-owned houses in King William's Town.
  • A KwaZulu-Natal official sold state land in the upper-class suburb of Glenashley, Durban.
You call that millions, while you all smiled and waved the ANC on for years. You just don't want them to dig to deep aunty de lill.. they will find your corrupt fingers in the bigger pie as well.

And they want us to believe the answer to SA's woes is land redistribution? To who? For what purpose? They can't even manage what's in front of them now.
Government or black people?

A vast part of SA's "economy" is informal and illegal. Generally comprising individuals stealing and selling on goods.

Coal, timber, electricity, water, diesel. Etc. Etc. Etc. The less easy it is to trace the better. And then bribes... everywhere. Counterfeiting documents (well actual real documents often enough, but manufactured by the people supposed to oversea such processes) for bribes.

This is so huge in SA it boggles the mind. Making everything more expensive for everybody. Worsening the problem.

a) So what is the suprise.
b) Now a contract will be given to a cadre with std 6 to investigate and fix the corruption at the cost of millions with no result or delivery.

These people are masters at using corruption to create corruption AND THEY GET AWAY WITH IT.

GO ZONDO GO!!!

Isn't that exactly what the state officials are doing, land redistribution? :p

“The minister is demanding answers as to what the hell is going on,” a senior official in the Public Works and Infrastructure department told the Sunday Times.
She can start by investigating our current Minister of Police for his involvement in the SAPS HQ leasing debacle, where it was found that he should be prosecuted for fraud and was fired as Police Commissioner.
