Your replies here will be biased though. You asking employed people... and unemployed people won't be sitting here posting away. They will be out looking for jobs (or moved overseas) or on the streets begging for money, or in white squatter camps.

Zim had a few key differences to us:
They fought a civil war.
The white population was a much smaller minority, and the did not have the Indian and coloured population we have.
They had a single president the whole time, we change presidents
They did not have free press, we do
Mugabe changed the constitution willynilly, the ANC does not have a big enough majority to pull that off.

So while there are some similarities I do not see it going the same way. We have a lot more going our way, as shown by how Zuma is out of the picture mostly, and the Gupta's are long gone. The divided nature of the ANC is perhaps SA's strongest hope right now as they fight and plot against each other too. Anyways, like I said, for now I have no plans on leaving. I also think the numbers of people leaving are not as high as is sometimes portrayed here. In my circle of friends and office environment almost no one has immediate plans to go and in the last year perhaps one work colleague has left out of 200.

Problem is the other side of the equation, the ex-president that opened the doors for the Guptas to rape & plunder is still around and still active in the ANC. So not really out of the picture as you would have us believe..

To be brutally honest.. CR (ANC) doesn't give a crap about non-blacks. This is pure electioneering. I remember when Jacob Zuma 9 years ago visited white squatter camps, and I was thinking "Maybe he cares for all". Joke was on us.

The more white people leave, the more votes ANC gets... (less competition)..

Not unemployed. I had to spend most part of the last 13 years in other African countries because of how the ANC fcuked up the mining industry. I did apply for a job or two, to be closer to my family, but guess the outcome? Now I see my family every day.

Then I had to send my kids to uni, but they did not make the quota cut. Got one to a Bachelors at a private uni though. Sitting on the plane, as we speak, to go to her graduation ceremony in SA.

But, come September, both of my kids will start at Dutch universities. In 4 years time they will have Dutch degrees. Wonder if they will go back to SA? Safe money says no. I won’t stop them, but will not encourage it. ANC will do the discouraging for me.

You're missing a very important point here, BEE employees are very often not capable of doing their job properly because their race was more important than qualifications, so it's not only about getting a job, it's about getting service from an employee who knows little to nothing about the job he is doing, see SOE's for an example.
