Why? The only logical reason is that they need "whites" to perpetuate their racism and historical indignation.

And in your opinion that will = Zim land grabs?

Fact of the matter is the ANC know a healthy economy makes it easier to get wealth. If they destroy the economy they destroy it for themselves too. I highly suspect that if EWC happens it will only effect state land, not private land. Private land if taken will be paid for. If they do anything else its over and they know it.

Almost every country in the world has passed though EWC in one form or another, some came out stronger, others weaker. Depends on how it is done. Not that I am a supporter of it in general and I think its missing the mark as to what the real issues in SA are but I do not think the ANC will ever actually just start full on land grabs zim style.

It depends on which part of the anc you refer to that is concerned about wealth generation. It's always surprising how the utmost poverty stricken countries still somehow have national leaders living in the utmost lap of luxury, Zims gucci grace is a good example of this.

If EWC was about state land, why not just say so in the first place. The understanding about EWC is that it currently targets all land.

Well if all the whites leave then who will they blame for whatever ineptitude they display in the future?

Ramphosa is winning the 'boil the frog slowly' game against the whites who remain.

In Nguni languages it's called 'Luma mphephete', which describes how a rat will repeatedly blow air on your skin in your sleep and then slowly take a bite out of you, then blow again so you don't feel pain . By the end of the long night you have bleed to death without waking.

Serious question. How many posters here who moan about BEE are actually unemployed?
My friend got denied a scholarship and NSFAS because of it, even with a 72% average in a Stem degree, he ended up leaving for a year and saved enough to study part time. His household income was around R7k a month in CT, father unskilled and mother unemployed.

He's doing well now though, after 2 years working he's at about 28k a month after taxes last I heard, he's pretty good at what he does and is pretty driven. Still lives with parents and pays them rent to help family income.

I've been denied scholarships in varsity and multiple interview opportunities in my professional career due to BEE. That's just counting the cases where I was given the direct reason, who knows how many more just didn't say.

Not unemployed, never been, that's not the point.

The victim hood diatribe will never ever cease as it is the excuse of people preventing them from taking a long hard look in the mirror. I'm tired of being made to feel guilty for something I never did or had any control over. I'm tired of my opinion being swept aside because of my race and I'm tired of representation without taxation.

Told a buddy that if the ANC + EFF, combined, were to attract more votes this election, or not show an appreciable drop in support, I'll be packing my bags. For then I will know we [all races] are ****ed.

Also, I wander how many of you would be willing to put down say R1000 for all these certain predictions you are making about the way the country will go, and how much poorer you would be if you had been doing that for say 20 years.

And on exactly what metric would they have made a loss over that time period according to you?

Shirley you mean taxation without representation?

Either way stop being tired and get pissed off about how your hard work is being pissed away by racist people who cannot even count or build their own ****ing toilets.

Without reading everything, we are looking at moving to New Zealand too. We made the choice after looking at the US of A, Canada, Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia too. Their culture and climate (on the north island) are very similar to ours.
Reason #1: My kids, their education, health and future. (*yes, NZ is directly under the hole in the Ozone)
Reason #2: Standard of living, even on the most basic residency/work visa level far outstrips South Africa. Now add that you do not have to pay for medical aid for kids below 16 or schooling, that saves a huge chunk of disposable income that covers the "higher cost of living" that the doom prophets keep bringing up.
Reason #3: My kids do not have to grow up in fear. We can let them grow up more freely. Here in SA, we do not even allow them to go in the streets alone. Burglar bars, alarms and 6 to 8ft walls are some things that do not exist in NZ. Yes, you get the loon that runs into a mosque guns blazing even in NZ, but per capita, they are much better off than over here in the Rainbow Nation where normal murder does not even make it to the crime stats anymore.

Excuse #1: Lacking the R18K for the Work Visa application, the R14K to 25K to get there in front of the potential employers. I can arrange to stay at family over there.

All valid and good reasons to base your decision on.

With regards to the excuse, that's not an excuse, it's part of the process of emigrating.
It's a huge financial decision so if you do take it, you go in 100%. Cancel everything...
DSTV,
drop medical aid to a hospital plan,
no more Nescafe classic, it's ricoffee all the way.
Ditch the cellphone contracts,
scale down your car or only have one car if possible.

You don't have to do all those things and they're just ideas but if your goal is to leave you have to do everything you can. You'll soon see money starts to seem irrelevant once you start adding everything up.
