Hi, Mr xxxx. No ETR as yet. Provisioning for additional bandwidth is ongoing. We are waiting on an update. ^TL

Please also start hammering Telkom. I can't be the only one doing this.

Where in STB are you based?

I got those kind of latencies at our church's office during work hours, which is close to Die Braak.

My flat is next to Paul Roos Gimnasium, and here is a traceroute of my 2Mbps ADSL connection like right now:

Sometimes my latency is fail, other times it is fine. But EVERY night I am at sub 1M speeds. Every weekend I am at sub 1M speeds. Telkom has stopped replying to me as well.

It would also be nice if we could sync on the DSLAM closer to Lanzerac, than the one in Alexander street. That would require rewiring of our DP though. Not going to happen.

Thanks for the update @ alternate.

I have now logged a fault with Telkom too, even though I'm renting the line with MWEB. MWEB has already recreated my ADSL port and it made no difference.

I have been monitoring my download speeds with my RB750 and it seems things are getting worse. I only reach 2Mbps around 3am now, between 4 and 5am I get 3.4Mbps (max on 4M line) or so and then it just goes down again. Telkom closed my fault, as expected. I will now escalate the issue. Then try the ICASA route. Anyone else having luck?

Yeah, it is definitely getting worse. I used to get 2Mbps at 00:00, now I'm still at 900kbps at 01:25 !

I think I'm going to contact MWEB guy now too, because the MWEB tech support is useless.

Telkom is obviously happily just adding more and more people to the network without caring about back haul. Sigh.

Zero congestion during the Seacom outage. :) Need to arrange that more often.

Yes, it the congestion was less, but like yesterday I couldn't reach 2Mbps in the evening again.

Yeah, since Seacom became almost fully operational again, things went south. I managed to have 4Mbps for 36h or so.

A technician came on Thursday last week and fixed my line.
The ADSL connection wasn't even configured properly. On their field services test I apparently didn't have a router plugged into my line and syncing!

He went to the exchange, reconfigured a few things for 2 hours and now I have a new line port number. My latency has been fine when it usually is out of control. I haven't had time to properly test everything but things seem good. I have had a problem with getting my maximum line speed at peak times.
I get back in a week when I can properly monitor and test everything again.
