Shamepies they don't want to pay like the rest of society, lets give them a wage increase.

If I was promised free parking during the recruitment process and this happens, then I'm going to make my frustrations known.

Parking is a serious problem in Stellenbosch. The biggest contributor to this problem is students. While this will not sit well with most people I think the town needs to create car free zones in order to get people to consider alternatives such as bicycles.

Parking in Stellenbosch is bloody expensive. I haven't been to the water front in a long time but last I was there undercover parking was cheaper than open parking at the Eikestad Mall. I'll see if I can take a photo of the pricing structure some time today.

I don't think people willingly choose to sit in kilometers of traffic. Most of it comes from Cape Town, Scumerset West, Paarl and surrounds. And that is because of the cost of living in Stellies.

I prefer the carrot approach rather than the stick. The municipality could develop a couple of high rise parkades on the edges of town where they can park from their commutes. Charge a relatively low monthly fee for their use, then encourage the local public transport firms to fill the gap, either with Tuk Tuks, bicycles or uber.

The traffic problem is going to get bad before it get's worse.

Soon Capitec will finish their new offices in Technopark which will see an influx of at least a 1000 more employees, add to that they will be renting out their old offices so even more people will flock in.

Within the next 10 years they plan to build a road that will go from the R304 Welgevonden traffic lights and merge with the R44 after De Zalze. So that will route a lot of traffic around town.

The parking still remains a problem though.

You sure about that? That would be bloody wonderful, a second entrance from the back into Technopark is also needed, that entrance fcks up traffic flow completely in the morning. For me, if I have to drop my wife at work( do this every now and then) it's a minimum 2 hour drive from home to Somerset west and back if I leave anything after 6h30.. Barely 50km.

Really?
There isn't much space to put a road like that, unless if they go underground.

Unless if they just do the world a favour and demolish most of the town
